“One thing we love to do at Stew Leonard’s is create excitement,” said Blake Leonard, who operates the wine and spirits side of the business and is part of the third generation in the family-owned tri-state area grocery store.

She said this meet-and-greet was organized organically after the store collaborated with Jackson for a similar event at its location in Yonkers, New York. The owner said she had a great time working with the rapper and his team.

The event was operated through a pre-sale arrangement in which fans had to buy a $225 ticket to take a photo with 50 Cent and then get their signed bottles on the way out of the store.

Leonard said she loves to host celebrity events. The store had a previous signing with “Breaking Bad” actors Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul at one of its Connecticut locations to promote their Dos Hombres Mezcal.

Leonard said the supermarket has another celebrity lined up to appear at one of its stories in June, but she could not reveal the name.
