According to reports, 18-year-old Shiloh Jolie-Pitt filed legal documents to alter her name.

She is the third child in the family to publicly announce this change.

The 18-year-old Shiloh Jolie-Pitt submitted legal documents on May 27 in order to take her mother Angelina Jolie’s last name rather than her father Brad Pitt’s.

She wishes to go by “Shiloh Jolie” for the time being, which is her first mature move.

Shiloh turned in the paperwork on Memorial Day, which also happened to be her birthday, according to a recent TMZ piece. The name change plan has not yet received legal approval, but it will soon become official.

Shiloh made the right decision because her sisters Zahara and Vivienne are also said to have excluded “Pitt” from the family on a few occasions.

People reported in May 2024 that she is listed as “Vivienne Jolie” on the playbill for the musical “The Outsiders,” conspicuously absent from the cast is “Pitt.” Vivienne’s new name represents a significant shift in her public persona.

As a production assistant, Vivienne supports her mother Angelina, who is the show’s producer. She often travels with her mother on the musical’s promotional tour.

In November 2023, Zahara joined Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. at Spelman College. In a video that Essence shared, Zahara’s new sorority sisters can be seen cheering her on as she enters the stage.

She proudly announced, maybe leaving out her father’s last name, “My name is Zahara Marley Jolie,” before dancing and flipping her hair.

Alongside their name change, Angelina and Brad are also mired in legal issues.

The couple’s involvement in fights over their shared ownership of a French winery and allegations of abuse are causing the family significant financial and emotional distress.

After filing for divorce in 2016, the court declared in 2019 that Angelina and Brad were no longer legally single. Their post-divorce court disputes continue to center around their 2021 joint custody agreement.
