Angelina Jolie’s son, Pax, has reportedly started dating an older girl, and it seems the Hollywood actress is having trouble setting boundaries.
According to reports, Angelina Jolie is getting involved in her 19-year-old son’s romance, “questioning” his 20-year-old girlfriend, Carmen Blanchard, about her “intentions.”
Pax, who is being raised by Jolie along with her ex-husband Brad Pitt, is not thrilled when his mother starts to take control. An insider revealed that Pax has asked the actress to “back off” so he can figure out his budding romance on his own.
In a conversation with the National Enquirer, a source said of Angelina Jolie, “She’s grilling this poor girl about her intentions, education, views on everything from politics to common ambitions, and delving into her family history to ensure she’s suitable for Pax.”
Despite Carmen Blanchard having a clean family history, the insider claims that Jolie can’t approve of her son’s romantic relationship due to a fear of losing him. “Pax has asked his mom to back off and give him and Carmen some breathing space,” the source asserted. “They’ve only just started dating, and Angelina is already acting like they’re heading to the altar!”
The insider added that the 48-year-old actress “acts like a mother bear protecting her cubs when someone other than her enters her children’s lives.” Angelina Jolie is afraid that her children will grow up, and she will be left alone. “But she’ll have to get used to it if she wants to maintain her relationships with her children.”
Recently, Pax and his older brother, 22-year-old Maddox, visited their mother on the set of her film in Paris. Angelina Jolie’s sons assisted her during the filming of the upcoming biographical film “Maria,” directed by Pablo Larraín, in which the actress plays the famous opera prima donna Maria Callas.
