BREAKING!! Patrick Mahomes Targets One Wide Receiver Draft Prospect for Kansas City Chiefs – Football Blog

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was impressed by one wide receiver during the NFL Combine this weekend.

The Chiefs are expected to add to the wide receiver position this offseason either through the draft or free agency.

The Kansas City Chiefs need better WRs in 2024

The Wide receiver position was a problem for the Chiefs last season, as the team led the league in dropped passes.

They have several wide receivers from last season’s team who might not be in a red-and-white uniform next season.

The Chiefs released Marquez Valdes-Scantling last week due to cap space issues. The team could move on from Kadarius Toney following a rocky 2023 season where he made numerous mistakes on the field and caused drama off of it. Mecole Hardman is set to hit free agency.

One top pass-catching prospect in the 2024 draft had an incredible showing at the combine. Per GH Media, Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy broke the record for the fasted 40-yard dash time:

“Former Texas Longhorns wide receiver Xavier Worthy officially broke the NFL combine 40-yard dash record with a 4.21-second 40-yard dash.

Xavier Worthy just narrowly beat out the previous 40-yard dash record of 4.22 seconds, held by early first-round Cincinnati Bengals draft pick John Ross. Worthy was initially clocked in at 4.22 unofficially, but the official time saw Worthy break the record.”

Mahomes was impressed by Worthy’s time. He posted on X that Worthy was crazy fast.

Mahomes appears to be hinting he values Worthy and his speed. The Chiefs offense has missed an explosive element to it ever since they traded Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins.

The Chiefs have won two Super Bowls sans Hill, but it hasn’t always been easy on Mahomes. Mahomes was visibly frustrated this season with the offense’s struggles during the regular season. A regular season, by the way, where the Chiefs finished with the third seed in the AFC.

Could Worthy’s speed provide a Hill-like boost that opens up the field for Mahomes and the Chiefs after April’s Draft?
