Lakers’ D’Angelo Russell Tried To Sneak In Another Unauthorized Drink During His Press Conference And Got Instantly Denied (VIDEO) – News

D’Angelo Russell is not going to stop trying to promote his drink.

Since returning to the Lakers in a three-team trade on Feb. 9, guard D’Angelo Russell has played a key role on the team to help them win throughout the postseason.

He has also been trying to himself sell some drinks.

Throughout the playoffs, Russell has been trying to advertise Coco5, a drink promoted by Russell and several other NBA players. However, every time he tries, team personnel remove the drink before his press conference appearances, as only Gatorade drinks are allowed to be displayed per its partnership with the league.

That scene played out after Game 6 as Russell’s drink was summarily taken away as soon as he sat down.

Other NBA players involved with the beverage include the Suns’ Devin Booker, the Clippers’ Marcus Morris, the Mavericks’ Markieff Morris, and the Knicks’ Derrick Rose.

According to The New York Post, which detailed the drink’s origins, Coco5 is “an ‘all-natural fruit-flavored coconut water’ that comes in six flavors.”

Three years on from their Conference Finals matchup in the bubble, the Denver Nuggets and the Los Angeles Lakers are once again set to fight it out for the chance to represent the West in the NBA Finals.

This time, it won’t be done in a COVID bubble in Orlando. The two teams will travel between Denver and Los Angeles to see whose fans will have the most impact on the game and try to will their team to victory.

Russell can continue to bring his drink, but it won’t be advertised.
