Not only the fans, but a few players in the league believe that Patrick Mahomes is the greatest QB of all time.

One such person belongs to the Kansas City Chiefs’ rival team, the Las Vegas Raiders.

We are talking about Raiders cornerback Jack Jones, who had a few things to say about the 3x Super Bowl champion on his recent Instagram Live.

The host of Protect the Shield Podcast came forth and highlighted the fact. Jones, the Raiders CB, compared Mahomes to Tom Brady and Lamar Jackson on different parameters. He based his argument on a personal experience.

As much as he didn’t want to admit it, Jones had to agree that there are some things Mahomes has that even Brady and Jackson lack.

The rivalry between the Chiefs and the Raiders is unparalleled and Jones “hated” that Mahomes played for the Chiefs but couldn’t help admiring him from afar. “I hate the fact he play for that team bro, but it’s like, if we’re calling spade of spade bro, Patrick Mahomes is the greatest quarterback ever, to ever play the game.” The audience on Jones’ live didn’t like the assertion so he backed it in the best way he could.

The Raiders CB then laid out a benchmark on how he judges the QBs. Per Jones, a QB has 3 main positions/roles. For a QB, running game, passing, and facilitating are what dictate their prowess on the field. He mentions how Lamar Jackson is best at running the ball, while Brady is the quickest passer the league might have witnessed. However, per Jones, Mahomes is a bit different.

“He has the ability to run like Lamar Jackson, and then he passes the ball so efficient bro and then he’s facilitating as far as breaking down,” explained Jones, and then added, “What made me believe it bro is when we played against them boys in uh KC, when we played against them boys for the Christmas game. Bro we was up bro, we scored two tubs in 7 seconds on defense.” But even before the Christmas game, the Raiders CB thought of Patrick Mahomes as a magician.

The Raiders CB knows Mahomes needs to be stopped

Before the Christmas game, Jack Jones addressed the media and said that the team is not worried about anything but Pat Mahomes. The Raiders reporter Levi Edwards brought forth the interview from the Raiders locker room. The video was captioned, “Jack Jones believes that stopping Patrick Mahomes will be the number one priority for the #Raiders defense. “If we stop the magician, then the act is over.”

Jones was recorded saying, “It’s Patrick Mahomes we’ve got to stop. The magician. You stop the magician then the act is over.” We got to see Magic Mahomes do his thing in the playoffs by breaking the record for most touchdowns in NFL playoff history with the help of Travis Kelce. They went beyond Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski’s playoff TD records. Hence, Jack Jones’ assessment might have some substance to it.
